What a year this has been for my racing… in a year filled with many injuries and the usual roller coaster of training and weight control issues, I didn't expect much. However, looking back at it, starting with IMCZ 2013, this turned out to be a very special year:
5k PR
10k PR
1/2 Marathon PR
Olympic PR
Ironman 70.3 - came 29 sec from PR (had 5-10 min mechanical issue)
Ironman - should have PR’d 2 of the last 3 IM (had the swim not been shortened or cancelled), but PR’d each of the Swim, Bike and Run legs separately
I qualified for the USA Olympic Distance Triathlon National Championships, for the second time.
But the most awesome accomplishment for this year is that I have qualified as Ironman All World Athlete Bronze Level, meaning I was in the top 10% in my Age Group worldwide.
I qualified in two of three categories:
Overall (Ironman and Ironman 70.3 combined) - where I ended up 24th overall in my Country Ranking for all athletes in my age group in Brazil
Ironman - where I ended up 28th overall in my Country Ranking for all athletes in my age group in Brazil
Looking forward to what 2015 will bring... maybe a Kona spot?
